The unfaithful conduct of man
as viewed from God above
stems from a self-sufficient pride
and a lack of true love
____
from a people called by His name
who have the greater need
should obey what as been spoken
and written laws to heed
____
but nevertheless pride still remains
where man has sought control
in governing his own affairs
still master of his soul
____
and Jesus was never made Lord
from Calvary’s cross of shame
only in their minds a savior
not zealous for His name
____
yet Jesus said, "if you love Me"
"keep My commandments" it’s clear
what God expects from His children
is love drawing Him near
____
when we are unfaithful to God
He’s faithful until the end
He’s the author and finisher
of faith we must depend
____
but the question must be answered
whether Christ shall be Lord
then faithfulness should be easier
when we’re in one accord
